A Day in the Life
Prospecting and Sales Execution: You’ll develop and manage a designated sales territory to identify new fiber broadband service opportunities through networking, referrals, cold outreach, and canvassing. You’ll guide prospective members through the full sales cycle including needs assessments, proposal development, negotiation, and closing.
Relationship Management: You’ll build and maintain long-term relationships with business members, realtors, installers, and community organizations while supporting renewals and identifying service upgrade opportunities that align with member needs.
Community Engagement: You’ll represent ECE Fiber at community events, chamber of commerce meetings, and local government or economic development sessions to provide updates, answer questions, and advocate for fiber expansion across the region.
Internal Collaboration: You’ll maintain accurate Customer Relationship Management (CRM) records, track sales activities and opportunities, and coordinate with broadband operations, marketing, member services, and business accounts to align sales with service capabilities.
What You’ll Need
Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED plus at least five years of business-to-business sales, or related experience with a strong record of achieving sales goals, or a combination of education and experience. Experience in broadband, telecommunication, or fiber internet sales is preferred, along with familiarity with LAN/WAN, high-capacity networks, or digital phone systems and an understanding of cooperative business principles.
Credentials: Valid driver’s license.
Skills: Strong relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills with a consultative, customer-centric sales approach. Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in a field-based environment. Proficient in Microsoft 365 and CRM platforms with the technical aptitude to explain fiber-based solutions to diverse audiences in a clear and understandable manner.
Additional Details
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., based at the Braham, MN Headquarters building with travel required throughout ECE’s service territory. This role requires flexibility to attend community events and meetings that may occur outside of regularly scheduled hours.
Hybrid Option: This position does not offer a hybrid work arrangement.
